Greetings, Catoctin Creek nation!
We have so many exciting things happening right now! First, let's give a big hello and "welcome to the family" to all the new customers in a bunch of new states! If you live in California, Arizona, New Mexico, Nevada, Texas, Missouri, Minnesota, Illinois, Kentucky, Florida or South Carolina, you may now purchase Catoctin Creek spirits much more easily! In most new states and the ones we're already in, you'll find us at any Total Wine store -- assuming your state has Total Wine stores that sell spirits (sadly, Virginia does not).
In Illinois, we are now sold in every Binny's store in the state as well. Further, we are in Astor's in NYC, BevMo in California, as well a whole host of mom-and-pop independent liquor stores (WE LOVE YOU!) in other states in the US. Of course, in PA, VA, and NC, you'll see us in your state-run liquor stores.
If you don't see it where you live, be sure to check our Where To Buy page and feel free to contact your local state's distributor.
Our latest shipment for Europe is on the high seas on the vessel MOL GLIDE, sailing for our warehouse in the Netherlands. If you live pretty much anywhere in Europe, we can get you Virginia's finest spirits in your home country. Again, simply consult the Where To Buy page for more information.

Employee of the Month: Becky Harris!
We've always been very proud of our hard-working, super chic chief distiller, but the world is starting to notice what we knew all along! She's kinda awesome.
In February, Wine Enthusiast magazine wrote about how Becky Harris, our president and chief distiller, loves collaborating with local wineries and breweries. This article, by Kara Newman, highlighted her various beer collaborations to produce an interesting range of limited edition, hard-to-find single malt whiskies. Also highlighted a several other great American distilleries pumping out some great single malt whisky. You can read the full article here.
And in March, we have two separate events celebrating women in the alcohol business. The first, on March 3, is the Total Wine Livestream called "Women Who Mix It Up" featuring Lesley Gracie of Hendrick's, Allison Parc of Brenne Whisky, Hollie Stephenson of Guinness North America, and our own Becky Harris. Sample from all these fine purveyors and learn from them what challenges they faced as women in this very male-dominated business. Find out more, here.
Then, on March 9, the National Archives is highlighting various women around the district with their "We the Women" celebration at the archives building! There will be cocktail stations, live jazz and swing music, and even dance lessons. You'll also get after-hours access to the museum exhibits. Learn more about that, here.

Women Who Mix It Up
March 3, 4pm. Women have worked hard to win some of the most rewarding and difficult jobs in a male- dominated industry – distilling fine spirits and brewing beer. Join our conversation and sampling with four women who’ve blazed trails to craft acclaimed spirits and world-famous beers: Lesley Gracie, Master Distiller for Hendrick’s Gin, Becky Harris, Chief Distiller for Catoctin Creek, Allison Parc, creator of Brenne Single Malt Whisky, Hollie Stephenson, Head Brewer for Guinness North America.
Winchester Brew Works + Catoctin Creek at Bright Box
March 4, 5pm. Bright Box has joined delicious forces with Winchester Brew Works AND Catoctin Creek Distilling Company for our next Dinner. Join us at Bright Box for 5 savory courses expertly paired with locally crafted beers and cocktails. Representatives from Winchester Brew Works and Catoctin Creek Distilling Company will be present to discuss the drink pairings with guests. Learn about the local beverages that you are drinking as well as the establishments that craft them – and have lots of fun with fellow fine beverage aficionados! And to top it off, we'll be featuring great live music from Green Leaf Society!
We the Women
March 9, 7pm. Celebrate the 100th anniversary of women's right to vote. Speakeasies, specialty cocktails and tasting stations from women-owned and led businesses including Drink Company, Columbia Room, Denizens Brewing Company, Chaia, Catoctin Creek Distilling Company, and Lyon Distilling Company. Light hors d'oeurves, historic suffragist documents on view Live jazz and swing music, dance lessons including the "Charleston" by GottaSwing. Make your own suffragist-themed buttons and sashes. Chat with Archives curators and historians. After-hours access to museum exhibits. Themed photo booth.
Cocktail attire, suffragist white -- or come in 1920's era theme (suffragist, Gatsby, etc.). There will be stations and props to help you get in character.
Weddings in Loudoun Open House
March 11, 11am. Whether you are starting to plan your dream wedding or just looking for those last little details, the Weddings in Loudoun Open House is just for you. The Open House is free, county-wide and self-guided, letting you choose which wedding venue(s) to visit. While at each stop, meet with service professionals such as caterers, photographers, florists and more. The Open House allows you to choose your stops and set the pace as you explore Loudoun’s beautiful countryside. As an added bonus, venues and vendors will be offering prizes at each stop!
The Visit Loudoun Visitor’s Center in downtown Leesburg will be available throughout the Open House, providing information, maps and “to-go” bags with snacks and water for you to enjoy while you drive to find your perfect wedding location.
March 17, 10am. Catoctin Creek Distilling Company will conduct a BOTTLING DAY on Saturday, March 17, at 10:00am. Volunteers wanted. Learn how to bottle, cap, seal, and label Roundstone Rye. Get your chance to work the magic "whisky cow"! Or maybe you'd like to try your hands at operating "Ninette", our fancy French labeling machine! This event is FREE to attend!
St. Patrick's Day Brunch
March 17, 11am-3pm. You might be wondering, why a French restaurant is celebrating St. Patrick's Day. Well, one of the owners, Celeste, is totally Irish and felt it fitting to celebrate and start a new tradition here at L’Auberge Provençale. We will be serving an Irish brunch from 11:30-3:00 featuring Irish fare and a few things French. We have John Friant and his Irish band The Brogue Rogues will be playing some lyrical tunes. And guest Bartender, Peter from Catoctin Distillery in Purcellville, Va. Come sing along and dance a jig. Have some great food and camaraderie. Book early to reserve a table by calling 540-837-1375.
Meet the Distillers
March 17, 10am. Join us for the Spring Soirée, an evening of spirits, cocktail tasting, and hors d'oeuvres. Catoctin Creek will be taking over Brabo's brasserie to pour tastes of spirits presented side by side with Brabo's cocktail expression and Chef's food pairing to highlight the award-winning craft whiskies and brandies perfect for the spring season. Catoctin Creek will be on hand to present each spirit and answer all your questions! Head bartender Brett Oye will show the depth and versatility of each spirit in a cocktail and Executive Chef Sebastien Rondier will show how food-friendly these spirits are.
$70/ticket includes four courses of spirit tastes, cocktail tastes, and hors d'oeuvres pairings.
Cocktail of the Month – The Negroni
The Negroni is one of those classic cocktails that is easy to make, and so easily enjoyed. Created by Count Camillo Negroni and bartender Fosco Scarselli in Italy in 1919, the contrasting flavors of the spirit, bitters, and vermouth combine perfectly for something totally refreshing and quite sophisticated. We use equal parts of each spirit for easy remembering, but some recipes will suggest slightly more spirit. Do as you wish. Try substituting rye whisky for gin in this recipe, you have yourself a new cocktail, the Boulevardier! Or, with the whisky, try dry vermouth, and you have the Old Pal.
1 oz Watershed Gin
1 oz Campari
1 oz Carpano Antica (or your favorite) sweet vermouth
Combine all three ingredients in a shaker of ice, shake well, and strain into a cocktail glass, or over a large rock in a rocks glass. Garnish with citrus peel.
